Janet Soldon is a practitioner and Master/Teacher of the Usui Shiki Rhoyo method of Reiki, as well as an intuitive energy practitioner. She has been practicing for the past 24 years. Prior to being an energy practitioner Jan worked as a Social Worker/Supervisor in Child Welfare and Protective services in Milwaukee which was a strong foundation for not only for her healing work, but also to help her engage in self-care and find balance. She was also a staff development trainer for the 800 employees with the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare as well as other social work agencies.

In 2004 Jan moved to Tucson, Arizona where she worked as a Reiki Practitioner and teacher in private practice for seven and a half years. In addition to private practice, Jan was instrumental in developing and implementing the wellness education component of the Therapeutic Massage Program at the Pima Community College. She taught wellness education classes at College in Arizona for six years. She developed and taught the following classes:

  • Introduction to Reiki/Energy
  • Reiki I and II
  • Introduction to Complementary and Alternative Medicine
  • Self-Care (which included Healing the Inner Child)
  • Stress Management

She collaborated with her husband to write and publish five books/manuals on Introduction to Reiki/Energywork, Reiki I, Reiki II, Reiki III, and Being an Ethical Reiki practitioner.She returned to Milwaukee in 2011 and is working out of the Art of Wellness Chiropractic Wellness Center. As a part of her personal practice and philosophy, she helps empower and guide others to their own healing. She also believes in client centered care with collaboration between client and practitioner. Providing a safe environment for her clients with an emphasis on confidentiality, professionalism and ethics is all important to her.
Jan also volunteers at Core el Centro where she gives workshops on Self-Care and Personal Growth and Development, several times a year.

Jan began her research into alternative and complementary medicines during her own cancer experience. It was then that she discovered various types of healing practices including Reiki, Intuitive Energy Work, Massage, Craniosacral, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Meditation and Chiropractic. Jan is also an experienced meditation guide and has conducted meditation sessions for beginning and intermediate levels.
Jan has a BA with a dual major of Spanish and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin and UW-M, as well as a Masters degree. She has received several awards and commendations for her work as a social worker/supervisor and teacher. She was named teacher of the year from Pima Community College in business and professions in 2006-07.
